General Notice
All services offered at AcuSleep Clinic are complementary care. They are intended to support, not replace, ongoing diagnosis and treatment by a licensed physician or other qualified healthcare provider.
The information provided on this website (ocacusleep.com) is for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nothing on this site should be used as a substitute for professional medical consultation.
Scope of Practice
Jacob Yang, L.Ac. (#AC 20650) is a California-licensed acupuncturist practicing within the scope defined by the California Acupuncture Board under Business and Professions Code Chapter 12. Services include acupuncture, herbal medicine, moxibustion, Asian massage, dietary and nutritional guidance, breathing and relaxation techniques, and related modalities for the promotion and maintenance of health and overall wellbeing.
California-licensed acupuncturists are not medical doctors. Services are provided within the scope of California acupuncture licensure using Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) frameworks — including pattern differentiation (변증(辨證)) — and are not a substitute for Western medical diagnosis, emergency care, or physician-directed treatment.
Herbal recommendations, when appropriate, are individualized and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. No information on this site has been evaluated or approved by the FDA.
Condition-Specific Notes
AcuSleep Clinic focuses on supportive acupuncture care for sleep-related wellness concerns. The following notes apply to each area of focus:
Insomnia
Acupuncture is offered as complementary support for insomnia and sleep difficulty. If your sleep problems are severe, persistent, or accompanied by other health concerns, please consult a licensed physician or sleep medicine specialist for evaluation before or alongside complementary care.
Snoring
Acupuncture is offered as complementary support for snoring. Snoring can sometimes be a symptom of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). If you suspect OSA, please consult a licensed sleep medicine specialist or physician for proper diagnosis before or alongside any complementary therapy.
Sleep Quality & Sleep Apnea Support
Acupuncture is a complementary support for sleep quality and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or replace standard medical care for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). OSA is a potentially serious condition that may affect cardiovascular health. If you have been diagnosed with or suspect OSA, please continue working with your physician or sleep medicine specialist. Acupuncture may be used alongside — not instead of — your prescribed treatment.
Stress & Anxiety-Related Sleep Disruption
Acupuncture and herbal medicine are offered as complementary support for general stress and sleep quality concerns. Acupuncture does not diagnose, treat, or manage anxiety disorders, depression, or other mental health conditions. If you have a diagnosed mental health condition, please continue working with your licensed mental health provider or physician. Acupuncture may be used alongside — not instead of — your existing mental health care, only with your provider's knowledge.
General Sleep Wellness & Other Conditions
Acupuncture for general sleep wellness, pain, and stress is offered as complementary care. If your symptoms are severe, worsening, or unexplained, please seek evaluation from a licensed physician.

Emergency Situations
If you are experiencing a medical emergency — including severe breathing difficulty, chest pain, or loss of consciousness — call 911 immediately. Do not attempt to contact this clinic in an emergency situation.
Acupuncture is not an emergency medical service. Patients with acute episodes related to sleep apnea, respiratory distress, or any life-threatening condition should seek immediate emergency medical care.
Results May Vary
Individual results from acupuncture and herbal medicine vary depending on the patient's constitution, condition severity, lifestyle factors, and adherence to their care plan. No specific outcomes are guaranteed. Any patient testimonials or case descriptions reflect individual experiences and are not representative of typical results.
